The well-loved Japanese ramen restaurant, Oki Bowl, is in the midst of relocating just up the street. Since 2018, they have been situated at 1608 Wisconsin Ave., having taken over the location that was once home to Basil Thai. Oki Bowl has revitalized the previously plain dining area into a vibrant, Instagram-worthy space, adorned with an array of colorful decorations on the walls and ceilings. Additionally, the restaurant has become a go-to destination for those seeking delicious and reasonably priced Japanese ramen.
Oki Bowl is relocating to 1614 Wisconsin Ave, a location that previously housed the well-loved yet affordable eatery Jaco Taco, which unfortunately shut its doors last year. It's still uncertain how Oki Bowl will utilize this new space, as it is significantly smaller than their previous location. They might be considering using the upper floor or the neighboring retail area, which has been operating as an unlicensed cannabis shop for some time.
The original announcement indicated that they would continue operating at their previous location until January 26th. However, a later update revealed that they must vacate the premises by January 1. It appears they won’t be reopening until February, so you’ll need to hold off for a little longer to satisfy your ramen cravings.
