The Grocer's recent study showed that a whopping 71 per cent of Brits scramble up their eggs for breakfast, while 60 per cent go the fried route. Packed with vitamins B2 and D, eggs are a powerhouse of nutrition; however, the usual suspects of butter or cream used in cooking them are loaded with saturated fats.
Now, the NHS warns that these fats can jack up "bad" LDL cholesterol, potentially leading to heart disease and stroke. But fear not foodies, there’s an expert-approved, guiltless twist on this morning staple that’s as tasty as it is nutritious.
Fitness expert Amy Lee, spilling secrets on TikTok @amyleeactive, swears by her high-protein, low-cal recipe claiming: "Here's the best hack for scrambled eggs with 30g of protein." She adds: “The scrambled eggs your order at a cafe only has about 10 to 12 grams of protein. So add cottage cheese to your eggs if you want to feel full for hours and have stable blood sugar.
"This also results in a delightful creaminess and an incredibly fluffy texture, all while being low in fat and calories." According to Healthline, a single cup of low-fat cottage cheese boasts an impressive 28g of protein and contains only 163 calories, helping you feel full for a longer period.
