Dunkin‘ lovers in some states are having to go without their favorite sweet treats.

Certain stores that didn’t have doughnuts available were still able to offer their “Munchkin” doughnut holes.
A manager from a west Omaha franchise, who wished to remain anonymous, informed reporters on Friday that Dunkin’ corporate instructed her not to disclose further details regarding the reason behind the shortage.
In the end, Jack D’Amato, a representative for Inspire Brands, explained that the shortage stemmed from a problem with doughnuts supplied by one particular vendor, affecting locations in Nebraska and a few other states, according to the AP.
He mentioned that the company was still looking into the impacted stores and suppliers.
Besides Nebraska, there have been reports of a doughnut shortage in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with its neighboring suburbs.
Some employees were discussing potential supply chain problems, while others mentioned that Dunkin' delivery trucks had been showing up completely empty of doughnuts.

Bryce Bares, a franchise owner of several Dunkin’ locations, informed the Omaha World-Herald that the products delivered to his stores did not meet quality standards. As a result, he chose to refrain from offering these items to his customers.
D’Amato mentioned that several of the impacted stores had already started to replenish their inventory.
Established as Dunkin’ Donuts in 1950, the brand underwent a rebranding to just Dunkin’ in 2018. This transition aimed to highlight their coffee offerings and various other products, which account for over 50% of their yearly revenue.
Recently, the brand collaborated with pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter to promote their latest Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso beverages, playfully referencing her chart-topping hit “Espresso.”
